Passive Fire Protection's job is to contain fires within the areas that they start.  Firestop products and systems protect occupants from flames, gases, and smoke from spreading, therefore "saving lives"!
"Passive" fire protection refers to fire-resistive construction and the fire-codes that are required.  They are third party tested.  The firestop products and systems are used to gain the hourly rating of fire-resistive construction.

FlameSafe firestop products and systems restore the fire rating of fire-rated assemblies (walls, floors, ceilings, dynamic joints, static joints and partitions) by sealing small or large openings made by penetrates such as metallic and non-metallic pipe, EMT conduit, cable and cable trays, insulated pipes, HVAC ducts and electrical bus/wire ways. The products are designed to compartmentalize and contain fire and smoke within a building.

Our comprehensive line of firestops includes intumescent / elastomeric products, sealants, mortar, putties, firestop bags, sleeves, devices and a complete line of cable protection products ideal for applications in commercial, industrial and residential buildings, new or retrofit projects. FlameSafe firestops are water-based and/or 100% solids. All Grace products meet the Green Building Standard. They also meet the standards of UL, Factory Mutual, ULC, and British Standards.

Virtually all our products are manufactured in their our own facility, located in Pennsylvania with warehouses in California and Texas. In addition, to our firestop products, Grace Construction Products manufactures a complete line of asbestos and lead abatement products.
